Iranian authorities have arrested four foreigners of undisclosed nationalities for what they say ‘participation in riots’. Officials said that the arrested individuals were apprehended during a raid on their hideout in the region.

Iranian authorities accuse Israel and the United States of having had a hand in “riots”.

NGOs based abroad have accused the security forces of intentionally targeting protesters in a movement that disrupted the Islamic republic in January.

On January 24, it was reported that two foreigners were arrested in western Iran.

Meanwhile, Iran has summoned European ambassadors stationed in Tehran after the EU’s designation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist group.

Iran foreign ministry said that ‘this is the smallest of measures’ before other moves are announced.
