England Cricket team held their nerve in a low-scoring thriller to beat Australia by four wickets in the fourth Ashes Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, registering a historic win. The match ended within two days of play.

The victory marked England’s first Test win on Australian soil in 15 years, restoring pride with a gutsy performance.

Chasing a modest target in the second innings, Jacob Bethell top-scored for England with 40 runs. Harry Brook and Jamie Smith remained unbeaten and guided the visitors past the finish line.

Earlier, Australia were bowled out for 132 in their second innings on Day 2, setting England a target of 175. Travis Head was the top scorer for the hosts with 46 as Australia collapsed in the second session.

Despite the win, England head into the final Test trailing 3-1. The fifth test match will start on 4th January, 2026 at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
