Jammu and Kashmir Police is set to organise Run for Unity–Jammu Marathon 2025 on Sunday at Gulshan Ground, Jammu, under its Civic Action Programme, aiming to promote national unity, healthy living and community engagement.
The Mega sporting event aims to promote unity, fitness and public participation. The marathon will feature free registration for all participants, along with T-shirts and refreshments, a cultural programme and a raffle draw, making it a festive sporting event for people of all age groups.
As many as 10 categories have been created to ensure wide participation, including men, women, juniors, veterans, sub-juniors and senior citizens.
The event carries total prize money of ₹ 4.70 lakh, with top prizes of ₹ 50 thousand, ₹ 30 thousand and ₹ 20 thousand in key categories.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three or five position holders, depending on the category, encouraging competitive spirit and sportsmanship.
The major events include the 21.0975 km Half Marathon (Men), 10 km runs for men and women (above 18 years), junior and veteran categories, sub-junior runs, and a special 2 km ‘Run for Unity’ for senior citizens, women, children and the general public.
J&K Police has invited citizens from all walks of life to participate and make the event a grand success, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening police-public relations through sports, fitness and unity-driven initiatives.
