Tsunami Alerts in Japan after the 6.7 magnitude Earthquake

The Japan Meteorological Agency warned of Tsunami waves upto 1 meter (3 feet) could hit in the northern Pacific Coastline after a 6.7 magnitude earthquake struck in Japan on Friday.

Earlier on Monday a 7.5 magnitude earthquake had struck Japan which done a lot of damages. Nearly 50 people were injured and the Tsunami waves rose upto 70 cms.

Today’s earthquake scaled as type 4 according to the intensity from 1-7.

The United States Geological Survey (USGS), the 6.7 tremor was centered 131 kms from the Kuji City of Iwake Prefecture on Honshu.

According to the Tsunami Advisory no evacuation is required, but to stay away from the sea.
