Iran Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei dismissed the G7’s latest statement as baseless and irresponsible.

The G7 had accused Iran of supplying military support to Russia in the Ukraine war and urged Tehran to comply with UNSC resolutions, the NPT, and fully cooperate with the IAEA, including allowing inspections.

The G7 also called on Iran to engage in direct talks with the US and abide by UN sanctions reinstated through the snapback mechanism.

Baghaei condemned the G7 for backing what he called illegal efforts by the US and E3 to restore sanctions, and criticised them for ignoring alleged Israeli-US attacks on Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities. He also rejected accusations related to the Ukraine conflict, reiterating Iran’s opposition to the war and support for dialogue.
