More than 150 activists of the main opposition party — the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) were arrested on Tuesday during nationwide protests marking the second anniversary of former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s imprisonment.
Nearly 120 arrests were made during overnight raids and early morning crackdowns, while the rest took place during demonstrations in Lahore.
But, party spokesperson Zulfikar Bukhari claimed that more than 200 supporters were detained in Lahore alone.
