On the occasion of National Unity Day (Rashtriya Ekta Diwas) 2026, commemorating the 151st birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Ministry of Ayush is promoting the message of ‘Yoga for Unity’, highlighting the role of Yoga in fostering national integration, social harmony and collective well-being.

The initiative, integrated with Yoga 365, aims to encourage citizens to make Yoga an integral part of their daily lives while strengthening the spirit of togetherness and shared responsibility towards health and well-being.

The Ministry is encouraging its Yoga and Naturopathy institutions across the country to undertake activities that take the message of Yoga for Unity to communities and promote wider public participation.

Prataprao Jadhav, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Ayush, said, “Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel united the nation through his vision and determination. On National Unity Day, we must carry forward his message of unity through collective action. Yoga brings people together beyond differences of age, region and background, promoting physical and mental well-being. Through Yoga for Unity and Yoga 365, we encourage every citizen to embrace Yoga as a daily practice and contribute towards building a healthier and more united India.”

Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, said, “Yoga offers a simple and accessible means of improving physical and mental well-being while fostering a sense of connection among individuals and communities. The Yoga 365 initiative encourages people to practise Yoga throughout the year, making preventive healthcare a part of everyday life. Through Yoga for Unity, we aim to strengthen this message and encourage wider community participation in building a culture of health, harmony and collective well-being.”
