CISF personnel on based on behaviour detection through observation technique, deployed at Random X-BIS today noticed and zeroed a passenger at the Check-in Area. Further, during CCTV review, another passenger was also identified accompanying him. Both passengers were scheduled to travel to Guwahati by IndiGo Flight No. 6E-2203 and onward to Agartala.
The matter was immediately brought to the notice of Income Tax officials. A substantial amount of cash was detected in the baggage of both passengers during screening, which was subsequently counted and verified by the Income Tax officials. The total cash was found to be INR 68,53,500/-, comprising INR 29,39,000/- from first pax and INR 39,14,500/- from second one.
Both passengers, along with their travel documents and baggage, were handed over to the Income Tax officials for further necessary action.
