Assam CM Directs Ministers to Oversee Relief Operations

Eight districts of Assam are affevcted by floods

Following the worsening flood situation in Sivasagar, Charaideo and Jorhat districts, Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma has directed Cabinet Ministers Ajanta Neog, Keshab Mahanta, Bimal Borah and Sushanta Borgohain to visit the flood affected areas and supervise rescue and relief operations.

Eight districts of Assam are badly affected by the rain and floods.

The Chief Minister said the Indian Army and the Indian Air Force have also been requested to assist in relief efforts.

He reaffirmed that ensuring the safety and welfare of the people remains the government’s top priority.
