France will aim path to a third FIFA World Cup title when they face Morocco in a blockbuster quarter-final clash on today in Boston.
Les Bleus have emerged as one of the standout teams of the tournament, reaching the last eight after a series of impressive attacking performances. France have scored 14 goals in five matches, with captain Kylian Mbappe accounting for seven of them. Mbappe is also among the four leading contenders for the tournament’s Adidas Golden Boot.
Morocco, the reigning African champions, have also impressed on their way to the quarter-finals. The Atlas Lions advanced comfortably through the group stage before defeating Canada in the Round of 16 last weekend.
Under head coach Mohamed Ouahbi, Morocco have combined technical quality, physicality and tactical discipline to remain unbeaten.
Today’s quarter-final will be Ouahbi’s 11th match in charge since taking over in March, with Morocco winning six and drawing four of their previous 10 games.
