UP To Get Country’s First Six-Lane Runway Underpass

India’s first six-lane underpass beneath an active runway is coming up at the new terminal of Varanasi airport. In a statement, Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu today said that the foundation work and raft work of the underpass is currently underway.

The Minister said that the 450 metre engineering marvel is part of country’s next-generation infrastructure, enabling seamless movement of road traffic below while aircraft operate above.
