India’s Jyothi Surekha Vennam has been upgraded from bronze to silver at the 2025 Archery World Cup Final in China after Mexico’s Mariana Bernal, the original gold medallist, was disqualified for violating anti-doping regulations.

World Archery last week announced Bernal’s disqualification after she tested positive for a prohibited substance and accepted the consequences of the anti-doping rule violation. The revised results elevated Jyothi to the silver medal.

The anti-doping violation carries a three-year period of ineligibility, ruling Bernal out beyond the 2028 Olympic Games. Following the revised standings, Mexico’s Andrea Becerra, who had defeated Jyothi in the semi-finals, has been promoted to the gold medal. Compound archery is set to make its Olympic debut at the 2028 Los Angeles Games.
