Delhi Airport has issued an advisory saying that adverse weather conditions have impacted flight operations in the national capital.

Passengers have been advised to use alternative modes of transport, including the Delhi Metro, to reach the airport and avoid delays.

The airport operator has also urged travellers to stay in touch with their respective airlines for the latest flight information as on-ground teams work to minimise disruptions.

The advisory comes in the backdrop of the India Meteorological Department forecasting an active southwest monsoon over western, central, and northern India, with heavy to extremely heavy rainfall expected to continue across large parts of the country.

Several states are also likely to witness thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, while heavy rain is expected to spread across parts of the Himalayan region.
