The United States of America booked their place in the World Cup Round of 16 after defeating Bosnia and Herzegovina 2-0 in the Round of 32.

The victory gave the United States their first knockout-stage win since 2002. The hosts started strongly, with Folarin Balogun scoring in the first half to put his team ahead.

However, Balogun was later shown a red card after an unfortunate collision with Tarik Muharemovic, leaving the United States to play the final 26 minutes with 10 men.

“I’m incredibly proud of this team,” Pochettino said after the final whistle. “Today it’s not only about the victory itself, but about how we achieved it. That’s a really important point. You can win, but the decisive thing is the way you win.”
