Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Seychelles National Botanical Garden, where he toured the Giant Tortoise Enclosure, home to the iconic Aldabra Giant Tortoise—one of the world’s largest and longest-living tortoise species, with a lifespan of over 250 years. PM Modi also fed the tortoises.
The National Botanical Garden is renowned for its diverse flora; it is home to over 280 plant species, including varieties brought from across the globe. A standout feature is the ‘Coco de Mer’ collection, which produces the world’s largest seed.
PM Modi, accompanied by President Dr. Patrick Herminie planted a “Coco de Mer” seed.
