Union Commerce Minister, Piyush Goyal is in London from the 25th to the 27th, ahead of the implementation of the India-UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement and the accompanying Double Contribution Convention on 15 July 2026.
Ahead of the FTA coming into effect next month, Piyush Goyal is in London, meeting business leaders and strengthening trade and investment ties.
At a business plenary hosted by the High Commission of India, industry leaders discussed how the agreement is expected to unlock new opportunities for both countries.
The plenary began with Union Minister Piyush Goyal highlighting the benefits of the upcoming trade agreement and how it will make doing business between India and the UK easier than ever before.
Speakers representing various industries also appreciated the Government of India for facilitating the landmark deal.
Participants, including leading business figures from India and the UK, hailed the forthcoming agreement as a significant step towards strengthening economic ties and building a robust economic bridge between the two nations.
As the India-UK free trade agreement moves closer to implementation, today’s engagement in London reflects the shared ambition of both countries to build a stronger economic future.
