FATF Appoints Vivek Aggarwal as Vice-President

Senior Bureaucrat Vivek Aggarwal has been elected as the Vice President of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).

Reacting to his appointment, Vivek Aggarwal said the selection reflects India’s collective efforts and the strength of its anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing framework.

He said he was honoured to take on the responsibility and looked forward to working with the global FATF network.

With this, India has secured a significant position in the global effort to combat money laundering and terror financing.

The FATF researches on globalstage, how money is laundered and terrorism is funded, promotes global standards to mitigate the risks, and assesses whether countries are taking effective action.
