A Russian drone attack killed one crew member of a Panama-flagged ship in the Black Sea waters and wounded two more.
In a social media post, a Ukrainian deputy Prime Minister said that another vessel under the Saint Kitts and Nevis flag was also hit and its three crew members were lightly injured.
In a separate attack, Russian strikes targeted Ukraine’s second-largest city, Kharkiv.
According to Mayor Ihor Terekhov, nine additional people required medical assistance following the attacks.
Meanwhile, the Russian-installed administration of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant said the facility’s transport workshop came under a large-scale drone attack on Thursday. Officials reported that at least 14 drone strikes were recorded.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said his country is ready to negotiate with Russian president Vladimir Putin on ending the conflict.
In an audio statement released by the Ukrainian Presidential Press Service, Zelenskyy stressed the importance of having the European Union ‘fully commit on sanctions without loopholes, on confiscation without exceptions and on funding Ukraine.’
The latest remarks come as Ukraine continues to seek additional military, financial and diplomatic support from its Western allies amid the conflict.
