The Massatusetts of Technology (MIT) of United States is positioned as the no. 1 in the QS World University Rankings where as UK’s Imperial College London in the second spot.
Indian institutions have once again performed impressively in the QS World University Rankings. IIT Delhi achieved its best-ever ranking, securing the 118th spot globally. It climbed five places compared to the previous year and remains the country’s top-ranked institution.
Over the past four years, IIT Delhi has recorded a remarkable improvement of 79 places in its ranking. Apart from IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay (134th) and IIT Madras (170th) also featured in the top 200 global universities this year.
A total of 52 Indian institutions—including IIT Kharagpur, IIT Kanpur, IISc Bengaluru, and the University of Delhi—secured a place in the rankings. This reflects the growing global recognition of India’s higher education system.
It is noteworthy that in 2014, only 11 Indian institutions were included in the QS World University Rankings. Meanwhile, India’s education system has now emerged as the fastest-growing among G-20 nations.
