India will take on Afghanistan today at Dharamshala in the opening one-dayer of the three-match ODI series

After losing three of their last five ODIs, including a home series against New Zealand, the focus will be on building form ahead of the 2027 World Cup.

Several senior players are unavailable due to rest or injury, giving India an opportunity to test their squad depth. While the batting unit remains strong, the bowling attack has a fresh look, with young fast bowlers getting a chance to impress.

Afghanistan, however, arrive full of confidence after winning their last four ODIs.

They are still searching for their first ODI victory over India and will see this series as a chance to create history. The return of star spinner Rashid Khan is a major boost for the visitors.
