Tennis legend Serena Williams has returned to professional tennis after being away from the sport for nearly 4 years.
The 44-year-old received a standing ovation as she stepped onto the grass court at Queen’s Club in London for her first-round doubles match.
Williams teamed up with 19-year-old Canadian player Victoria Mboko and faced the third-seeded pair of Nicole Melichar-Martinez and Erin Routliffe.
The match marked Serena’s first professional appearance after stepping away from tennis in 2022.
She had announced her return to doubles competition last week.
