Renowned playback singer Suman Kalyanpur passed away on Monday. The music world was stunned with the demise of the popular figure.

In the 1950s, kalyanpur began her musical journey as a playback singer and lent her voice to numerous popular songs in Hindi films as well as in Bengali, Odia, Marathi, Assamese and other regional languages.

In the year 2023, the Indian music world honored her with the Padma Bhushan for her contributions. Through her songs, she will forever remain alive in the hearts of people.

Born on 28 January 1937 in Dacca (then British India, now Dhaka, Bangladesh) Kalyanpur was famous for iconic songs of Naseeb(1981), Veerana(1988), Adhi Raat ke Baad(1965).
