Lt Gen Virendra Vats, YSM, SM, VSM, visited 1 Ladakh Battalion NCC, Leh, during the Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) being held from May 19 to 28 at Ladakh Scouts Regimental Centre, Gupuk, involving 350 NCC cadets.
During the visit, the DG NCC called on Lt Governor of Ladakh Shri Vinai Kumar Saxena and GOC 14 Corps Lt Gen Hitesh Bhalla to discuss youth development, expansion of NCC activities and strengthening infrastructure in Ladakh.
He interacted with NCC cadets from various educational institutions, appreciated their discipline and enthusiasm, and encouraged participation in national-level NCC camps. Outstanding ANOs and cadets were also felicitated for their achievements.
The DG NCC also reviewed the progress of the under-construction Ladakh NCC Training Academy at Phyang, emphasizing its timely completion to enhance training opportunities for cadets in the region.
