The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu, in collaboration with MachFly Aerospace Technologies, is developing an indigenous Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle (UCAV) named “SkyReaper” for high-altitude deep strike missions.

The delta-wing combat drone is being designed for long-range precision strikes, autonomous operations and the capability to function in extreme weather conditions. The ambitious project also includes the development of an indigenous turbojet engine at IIT Jammu’s Propulsion and Energy Research Lab (PERL).

The programme aims to strengthen India’s self-reliance in advanced unmanned combat systems under the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

MachFly Aerospace Technologies, a DPIIT-recognised startup incubated at IIT Jammu, was co-founded by Ayush Divyansh, Preetam Jamod and Lal Mohammed Khan.

Co-founder Ayush Divyansh said the project reflects the vision and dedication of young Indian engineers working towards building indigenous next-generation combat technologies for the country.
