US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor has arrived in Guwahati on Tuesday to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the Himanta Biswa Sarma-led Assam government. His visit highlights strengthening bilateral ties, coming shortly after his appointment as the top U.S. envoy to India.
PM Narendra Modi also participating the swear-in ceremony of Assam Chief Minister today at Guwahati.
In the Assam Assembly Elections BJP had got the clear mandate of 82 seats out of 126, where as Congress got 19 seats.
