The Director of IIT Madras, Prof. V. Kamakoti has been featured by Analytics India Magazine among the “15 Indian Govt Leaders Leading AI-Backed Public Sector Transformation.”
The recognition highlights Prof. Kamakoti’s leadership in advancing India’s AI and semiconductor ecosystem through research, innovation, policy engagement and institution-building. Since assuming office in January 2022, he has strengthened IIT Madras’ leadership in applied AI, indigenous technologies and next-generation computing.
As the creator of SHAKTI, India’s indigenous microprocessor initiative, Prof. Kamakoti continues to contribute to national AI missions and sovereign technology development while expanding IIT Madras’ AI ecosystem through research and strategic collaborations.
