Another historic step is being taken towards wildlife conservation in Madhya Pradesh. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav today launched a wild buffalo reintroduction campaign in the Supkhar and Topla regions of Balaghat district.

He releaseed three female and one male wild buffalo into their new natural habitat. The return of this species after more than a century will add a new dimension to the state’s biodiversity.

Under this project, buffaloes are being brought from Kaziranga National Park to Kanha Tiger Reserve.

In the first phase, a group of four buffaloes has already departed, while the overall target is to establish a population of 50 buffaloes. This process is being carried out under scientific supervision.
