BWF Approves 3×15 Scoring System in Badminton

The Badminton World Federation (BWF) has approved the adoption of the 3×15 scoring system at its Annual General Meeting held in Horsens, Denmark.

Under the new format, matches will be played as best-of-three games, with the first to 15 points. The 3×15 scoring system replaces the current best-of-three 3×21 system.

The change was voted through at the Badminton World Federation Annual General Meeting in Denmark.

The new format will come into effect from 4 January, 2027, updates.
