A tragic incident occurred on the Karchhana–Bhirpur section within the Prayagraj Division on Wednesday. According to reports received from Ministry of Raiy, at approximately 18:15 hours, the Guard and Loco Pilot of Train No. 12312 (Down direction) reported sighting a body on the Down Main Line at Kilometer Mark 801/24-22; consequently, the train was brought to an immediate halt.
The incident was immediately reported to the concerned officials, and necessary action was initiated.
Meanwhile, Train No. 12801 (Up direction)—the Purushottam Express—was passing through the aforementioned location at approximately 18:47 hours. A deeply tragic incident ensued, resulting in the death of four individuals who were struck by the passing train.
The Railway Administration is currently undertaking the necessary legal and administrative proceedings.
The administration urged the assengers and the general public are urged not to disembark from trains unnecessarily when they come to a halt, to refrain from venturing onto railway tracks, and to exercise utmost caution while strictly adhering to established safety regulations.
