Addressing the joint statement, French President Emmanuel Macron praised the India-France relationship, noting that several initiatives signed over the past eight years have strengthened bilateral ties.
President Macron said the relationship between India and France is truly remarkable and unique, built on trust, openness, and ambition.
He added that both nations have decided to elevate the partnership to a Special Strategic Partnership, granting it a new status.
He emphasized that this reflects the complete faith both countries have maintained in their ties over the past eight years.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his address said that India and France believe in democratic values, the rule of law, and a multipolar world, and share common values in the fight against terrorism.
PM Modi said both nations are unanimous that reform of global institutions is essential to address global challenges.
He added that India and France will continue to support efforts for peace in every region, including Ukraine, West Asia, and the Indo-Pacific.
The Prime Minister emphasized that both countries share a common commitment to eradicate terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
