In Jharkhand, the Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested an Army Hawaldar posted in Ranchi, along with a private person, for allegedly accepting a bribe of 50,000 rupees.

The case was registered on 30 January, after a complaint that the Hawaldar demanded five lakh rupees for allowing construction work on land claimed to belong to the Army and had earlier accepted part payments.

The CBI laid a trap, caught both accused red-handed while accepting the bribe and conducted searches at their premises. Further investigation is underway.
