Two Dead as Nipah Virus Spreads Concern, Airport Screening Starts in Asian Countries

An outbreak of the Nipah virus in West Bengal, India, has claimed two lives, triggering concern across the region. With fatality rates ranging between 40 percent and 75 percent, countries including Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore have introduced airport screenings and testing.

The measures reflect growing concern over cross-border health risks posed by the deadly virus.

Different Airports started screening the passengers with a fear of spreads.

According to Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), USA Nipah Virus normally transmit from animals to human. The virus enters through direct contacts of either bat or pig.
