Air Marshal Nagesh Kapoor today assumed charge as the Vice Chief of the Air Staff of the Indian Air Force. The Ministry of Defence in a statement, said during his career spanning over 39 years, the Air Marshal has held a wide range of command, operational, instructional and staff appointments.
He has served in important strategic and diplomatic roles, including as Defence Attaché to Pakistan, Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Operations – Strategy), Air Defence Commander at South Western Air Command, Senior Air Staff Officer at Headquarters Central Air Command, and Air Officer-in-Charge Personnel at Air Headquarters.
Prior to assuming his present appointment, he served as Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Training Command and later South Western Air Command. Air Marshal Kapoor took over from Air Marshal Narmdeshwar Tiwari, who superannuated after completing four decades of distinguished service to the nation.
