Women’s T20 Blind World Cup Kicks Off In New Delhi, India beats Sri Lanka

The first edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup for the Blind got underway in New Delhi. Six teams – India, Sri Lanka, USA, Nepal, Australia, and Pakistan – are participating in the tournament. The opening match is being played between India and Sri Lanka.

Jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka, the competition will be held till 23rd of this month. The main sponser of the World Cup is SBI.

The final will be played in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The opening ceremony witnessed the presence of former Union Ministers Anurag Thakur and Meenakshi Lekhi. Lekhi is the chairperson of the organising committee.

In today’s match India beat Sri Lanka by 10 wickets. Batting first Sri Lanka were all out for just 41 runs in 13.3 overs. Chasing a modest total India crossed the line in just 3 overs without loosing any wicket.
