Prime Minister Narendra Modi departed today for a two-day visit to Bhutan, scheduled from November 11 to 12.
In Thimphu, Prime Minister Modi will take part in the ongoing Global Peace Prayer Festival. He will also attend the celebrations dedicated to the 70th birth anniversary of His Majesty Jigme Singye Wangchuck, the Fourth King of Bhutan. The visit coincides with the exposition of the Sacred Piprahwa Relics of Lord Buddha from India, where the Prime Minister will offer prayers to the Holy Relics.
During the visit, Prime Minister Modi will have an audience with the King of Bhutan, Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck. The two leaders will j0 Mointly inaugurate the 102W Punatsangchhu-II Hydroelectric Project, developed in collaboration between India and Bhutan. Prime Minister Modi will also hold talks with his Bhutanese counterpart, Tshering Tobgay.
This marks Prime Minister Modi’s fourth visit to the Himalayan Kingdom since assuming office.
