Gujarat Govt. imposes 2-hour limit on fireworks during Diwali

The festival of Diwali is starting to be seen in the markets across the country, the markets are filled with colors and fireworks, especially the markets of sweets and crackers are bustling during Diwali.

Then, to prevent air and noise pollution during the upcoming Diwali festival, the Gujarat government has issued guidelines and restrictions on the use, sale and import of crackers. According to the directions issued by the Supreme Court of India, bursting of crackers will be allowed for only two hours from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

In addition, bursting of crackers with loud noise has been strictly prohibited. Bursting of firecrackers is allowed for only two hours from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm For Christmas and New Year celebrations, the permissible time is from 11:55 pm to 12:30 am.

Firecrackers will not be sold on e-commerce websites either Instructions have been issued regarding bursting of firecrackers in public in the state during Diwali.

The Home Department, while issuing instructions regarding bursting of firecrackers in public, said that as per the directions of the Supreme Court, firecrackers can be burst between 8 pm and 10 pm, along with this, bursting of firecrackers that make a lot of noise has been banned. So, firecrackers will not be sold on e-commerce websites either.
