Founder of Sunance Film Festival, Robert Redford has passed away on Tuesday. He was 89. The actor, film director and producer died in Utah, USA.
Redford’s vision launched a movement that, over four decades later, has inspired generations of artists and redefined cinema in the U.S. and around the world.
For the film ‘The Sting’ (1973), he earned the academy awards nomination for best actor. Redford portrayed Alexander Pierce in the film Captain of America: The Winter Soldier (2014)Â and Avengers: Endgame (2019) the last on-screen presence.
He started directing film from 1980 (Ordinary People), which won four Academy Awards including best director and best picture.
The vibrant storytelling landscape both as artists and audiences, is unimaginable without his passionate drive and principled leadership. Beyond Bob’s enormous contributions to culture at large, we will miss his generosity, clarity of purpose, curiosity, rebellious spirit, and his love for the creative process.
