The Indian Army launched rescue operations in coordination with the Civil Administration, when flash floods struck Beed district of Maharashtra, marooning several villages and leaving families stranded within hours.
Army Aviation helicopters from the Thar Raptors Brigade of Southern Command were mobilised at short notice. Braving adverse weather and challenging flying conditions, the pilots flew into cut-off areas to evacuate stranded citizens.
Affected people including women, children, and the elderly, are being airlifted to safety, with continuous sorties being undertaken to rescue.
The operations, conducted in synergy with NDRF and State agencies.
