Union Minister Harsh Malhotra Launches IIT Madras-Backed Cancer Care Centre

Union Minister Harsh Malhotra today stressed over early detection of cancer as India suffers with the highest number of cancer among children. He also urged people to think about diagnosis and precise treatment of cancer in the country. Mr Malhotra said this while addressing the launch event of a cancer care centre in New Delhi.

The centre is developed by Indian Institute of Technology Madras along with a private company. He further said that Swastha Safal Bharat or a Healthy and successful India is the top priority in the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

While praising the centre, the Minister said that the IIT Madras has developed labs for doing research on genetics, genes and genomes to find out how cancer can be treated precisely.
