External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar and Russia’s First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov attended the India-Russia Business Forum in Moscow.

Jaishankar appreciated the assessments and reports of various sectoral leaders regarding the deeper potential of economic ties between the two countries.

He reiterated that an enduring strategic partnership must have a strong and sustainable economic component.

In this context, the minister called on businesses from both sides to engage in more trade, consider increased investments and joint ventures, and explore new frontiers of economic cooperation.

Earlier, Minister Jaishankar addressed the 26th Session of the India-Russia Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical, and Cultural Cooperation in Moscow.

He stressed that India-Russia bilateral trade has grown rapidly over the last four years, but highlighted the major trade imbalance that has accompanied this growth.

He noted that while bilateral trade in goods has increased more than five-fold, the accompanying trade imbalance has grown by about nine times.
