Minister of State (Home), Government of India, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, inaugurated six major infrastructure projects of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) in Arunachal Pradesh today, in the august presence of Anand Mohan, DGP Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh, and senior officials of ITBP.
The projects were executed by the Central Public Works Department (CPWD).
The inaugurated projects include Gazetted Officers and Subordinate Officers Mess – Animal Training School (ATS), Lohitpur; Stable for Horses – Animal Training School (ATS), Lohitpur; ASI accommodation – 31st Bn, Yupia; Administrative Block and GOs’ Mess – North East Frontier HQ, Itanagar; 10-bedded Hospital – 20th Bn, Aalo; SOs Mess – 49th Bn, Basar
The total cost of the above projects amounts to ₹56 crore.
These facilities mark ITBP’s continuous endeavour to strengthen infrastructure in frontier areas, ensuring modern and comfortable residential complexes, medical care, stables, and training infrastructure for its personnel. They will significantly contribute to improving the operational efficiency, welfare, and morale of ITBP troops deployed in this strategically vital region.
Addressing the gathering, the Hon’ble MoS (Home) commended ITBP’s unwavering dedication, discipline, and commitment in safeguarding the nation’s borders in Arunachal Pradesh. He reiterated the Government’s resolve to further strengthen Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) through modern infrastructure development and enhanced welfare measures.
On behalf of DG, ITBP, Ashish Kumar, IG, expressed gratitude to the Government of India, stating that the Force will continue to serve the nation and protect its frontiers with integrity, courage, and professional excellence.
The event was attended by senior ITBP officers, dignitaries of state government, district administration, CPWD, and BRO.
