ISRO to establish key infrastructure for Space Programme in Assam

Keshab Mahanta, Minister for Revenue, Disaster Management, IT, Science, Technology and Climate Change, Govt of Assam and Dr. V. Narayanan, Secrteray, Department of Space/ Chairman, ISRO, have jointly undertook a reconnaissance visit to the site proposed for establishing key infrastructure for Indian Space Programme, in Assam.

The multi-purpose facility will help India to ensure saftey of space assets, in addition to supporting Indian weather advisory services. Mahanta has promised all possible support of Govt of Assam for the endeavour and also shared his vision in bringing up a space museum in the area, for the benefit of students and the public at large. Secretary DoS/ Chairman, ISRO has lauded the idea and offered ISRO’s cooperation for this.
