Production has officially begun on the new TV adaptation of the Harry Potter series, with producers releasing the first image of 11-year-old Dominic McLaughlin in costume as the iconic boy wizard.
The upcoming series, based on J.K. Rowling’s best-selling novels, is being produced by HBO and is expected to span ten years, offering a more detailed and episodic retelling of the original story.
Francesca Gardiner and Mark Mylod will executive produce the new HBO Original Series, Harry Potter, with Gardiner serving as showrunner and Mylod directing multiple episodes.
Filming will take place at Warner Bros Studios in Leavesden, Hertfordshire — the same location where all eight of the original Harry Potter films were shot.
The studio has also confirmed the addition of several new cast members, though details remain under wraps. The show is expected to bring in a new generation of viewers while staying faithful to the source material.
