Mumbai Customs Zone-III Seizes Hydroponic Marijuana Worth ₹5.11 Crore at CSMI Airport

Mumbai Customs Zone-III apprehended an Indian national, carrying hydroponic marijuana (weed) at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International (CSMI) Airport on Friday. The individual had arrived from Bangkok via IndiGo Flight No. 6E 1052.

Upon examination of the passenger’s checked-in baggage and personal search, officers recovered 5,119 grams of hydroponic marijuana (weed), concealed within the luggage. The seized contraband carries an estimated illicit market value of ₹5.119 crore.

The narcotics were seized under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. The passenger was immediately placed under arrest. Further investigation is currently underway.
