India continues its efforts to bring back its citizens from conflict zones, with recent evacuations from Israel and Iran as part of Operation Sindhu.
Official Spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs, Randhir Jaiswal, shared the details on social media platform X on Wednesday, saying, “Union Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Labour and Employment (MoS), Shobha Karandlaje received 224 Indian nationals who returned to India from Israel on an Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft at 10:30 Hrs on 25th June. Safety and security of Indian nationals remains a priority for the government. Till date, 818 Indian nationals have returned home from Israel as part of Operation Sindhu.”
Meanwhile, India continued the evacuation of its citizens from Iran amid escalating tensions following the U.S. bombing of three Iranian nuclear sites. So far, 2,858 Indians have been brought back.
India’s External Affairs Ministry spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal said that 292 Indian nationals were evacuated from Iran on a special flight that arrived in New Delhi from Mashhad at 00:01 hrs.
Sharing details about India’s evacuation mission, Operation Sindhu, he said, “2,858 Indian nationals have now been brought home from Iran.” Separately, a C-17 military transport aircraft of the Indian Air Force evacuated 165 Indians who were living in Israel. They were received at the airport by Union Minister L. Murugan.
The aircraft brought back the Indians from Amman. The evacuees were taken to the capital city of Jordan through land border crossings.
