International Yoga Day at Sports Authority of India, Aizawl

The 11th International Day of Yoga was celebrated under the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health” on 21st June 2025 at the Sports Authority of India (SAI), STC Aizawl. The event, titled ‘Yoga Sangam’, promoted yoga as a global movement that nurtures physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.

The session began with a welcome address by Pi Elizabeth Lalnunmawii Colney, Centre In-Charge, SAI STC Aizawl. Pu Lalremsanga, Olympian and Joint Director, Directorate of Sports & Youth Services (SYS), attended as the Chief Guest. In his motivational speech, he highlighted the vital role of yoga in sports and in achieving harmony between the body, mind, and emotions.

The yoga session was led and demonstrated by Pi Lalhlempuii Tochhawng, Yoga Instructress, Directorate of Sports & Youth Services (SYS). Pu Lianminthang, Regional Director, SAI, also attended the event. Around 100 participants took part in the session.

At the national level, the event was led by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. This collective celebration reaffirms our shared commitment to the timeless discipline of yoga and its growing relevance in today’s world.
