Nine People including a minor died, when a car hit a group of people on the Jejuri-Morgaon road in Pune, Maharashtra. The incident took place when raining heavily on around 6.55 PM on 18 June 2025.

According to the Superintendent of Police, Sandeep Singh Gill, when people were standing at the roadside eatery, a high speed Swift Dzire struck them, which caused the death.

Meanwhile

Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the loss of lives in a  road accident on the Jejuri-Morgaon road in Pune, Maharashtra. He announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF for the next of kin of each deceased and Rs. 50,000 to the injured.

The PMO India handle in post on X shared the condolence message:

“Deeply saddened by the loss of lives due to a road accident on the Jejuri-Morgaon road in Pune, Maharashtra. Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. May the injured recover soon.

An ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of each deceased. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000: PM @narendramodi”
