PIB Organizes Media Conference ‘Varta’ in Navi Mumbai

For local journalists, Press Information Bureau (PIB), under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India organized a one-day media conference titled ‘Varta’ in Belapur, Navi Mumbai on 18 June 2025.

PIB Director General Smita Vats Sharma emphasized the importance of delivering accurate and official information to the public amidst the fast-paced flow of data.

The event also featured insights from Supriya Roy, Deputy Director General of the National Statistical Office (NSO), who spoke on the significance of government surveys and their role in inclusive development.

The main objective of the conference was to strengthen communication between media professionals and the PIB, and to spread awareness about central government policies and schemes. Senior officials from PIB, NSO, and other departments, along with representatives from various newspapers, were present at the event.
