Kedarnath Helicopter Services Resume After Deadly Crash; CM orders strict safety protocols

Helicopter service to Kedarnath Dham resumed today, two days after a fatal crash halted services. The Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority said operations will only proceed under suitable weather conditions. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation will closely monitor all flights to ensure safety.

An Aryan Aviation helicopter crashed in Gaurikund on 15 June , killing all seven people on board, including the pilot. The chopper was returning from Kedarnath to Guptkashi. After the accident, over 1,800 tickets were canceled, and helicopter services were suspended, disrupting many pilgrimages.

In response to the crash, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami ordered strict safety protocols. New guidelines require thorough technical checks of helicopters and precise weather assessments before flights. The government aims to strengthen safety and restore public confidence in air travel.
