Spain’s teenage prodigy Lamine Yamal starred with a brace as the European champions defeated France 5-4 in a thrilling Nations League semi-final on Thursday.

Spain took a commanding 2-0 lead in the first half through goals from Nico Williams and Mikel Merino. Yamal, 17, then converted a penalty before Pedri added a sublime fourth. Kylian Mbappé responded with a penalty for France, but Yamal struck again to complete Spain’s tally.

France launched a spirited comeback with three late goals but fell short as Spain advanced to their third consecutive Nations League final, where they will face Portugal.
